BUDAPEST, BLÁTHY OTTÓ STREET

The underutilised parking lot on the side of Bláthy Ottó Street facing Péter Vajda Street will be transformed into a pedestrian and bicycle accessible park and a quality recreational area.

The planning area will therefore be completely transformed within the framework of Phase I. In addition, care has been taken to ensure that the appearance and design of the parking area to be regenerated under Phase II is in keeping with the former. The concept of Phase I divides the space into 3 main areas. A small events area will be created on the side facing Peter Vajda Street, where a memorial will be placed. A new playground will be created in the centre of the area, providing a playground for children aged 3-12 years. In the inner part of the park, a gathering space will be created for a barbeque and a Christmas tree. Three small hills will be used to delineate the spaces, to reduce traffic noise and to create a calm atmosphere in the park, while a pathway in the middle of the park will provide fast access to the public transport. Paved surfaces will be renewed and new green areas will be created.

The concept aims to create a pedestrian and cyclist-friendly area that will be reborn as a new colour for the area with new green spaces, sophisticated street furniture and a tidy environment.
